Hey bro, did you see the thread recently where they explained the colouring is all related to Honda's manufacturing process and isn't an indication of problems like overheating?
You've really gotta make up a leak down testing kit and do it with the engine built. The pressure gauge (such as the one on my setup) will tell you immediately if air is getting out anywhere such as through the center seal. You can see which way the leak is going too - if you read/look through my previous posts and photos on the job you'll see what i mean. It s a pain to put together at first i know, but once you've got the kit made, you've got it for life and its so quick and easy to put a test on after piston swaps or whatever in future. You can have total confidence of the the air tightness of your motor every time from then on.
